So Neil Warnock reckons he's actually PLEASED to be out of the cup as it's 'not taken seriously anyway' by him or their fans because just under 5,000 turned up. I wonder what those 4,775 who did turn up and pay their money would think? Cos 20 odd quid means fuckall these days does it? It's nowt is it? A drop in the ocean to what most fans have in their deep pockets eh? Arrogant twat out of touch with reality.
Rochdale manager Steve Ayre said "Neil didn't say before the game that he doesn't take it seriously, to field a front line that has Adel Taarabt and Jay Bothroyd tells me it was taken quite seriously. It's still a fantastic competition. Wembley [venue for the Carling Cup final] is an amazing place to play football."
I think I'd want my team to go for it in the Carling Cup because if we were in the Premiership we'd only have 2 chances of winning anything (there's no way anyone outside that current 'top 4' have any hope of winning the Premier League)
I say top 4 but I reckon it's more like a top 3 this seaon, Man U, Chelsea and Liverpool. Man City always have shite consistency and Arsenal aren't in the running this season. Just my opinion anyway.
If that's the way the manager of QPR!!! sees this competition (no offence), that it's not to be taken seriously, then should teams be given the choice before the season starts whether they want to enter it or not? I'd rather see my team not enter it rather than have the manager then come out and say 'ah fuck it, it's a shite cup anyway' after I'd just shelled out enough money to pay for a family day out to watch it.
Should the Carling Cup stay then or should it be scrapped? Or is Neil Warnock just a sour fucking loser?
