me chipped digibox has had its last with virgins new set up,its not only me thats suffering my other half is stuck with the bog standard channels,no more shall she flick through 99 channels of shit before settling for bbc1,surely its only a matter of time before someone cracks it.

Virgin have been rolling out Nagra 3 encryption around the UK for a while now. You have been fortunate to last this long bill.... you must be in one of the last areas for the change.

A crack or fix for Nag 3 is highly unlikely I'm afraid, which makes your current box redundant. There is an alternative, but it will require a different box and an internet router.

Not cheap, but well worth the investment, my first box was a Technomate 6900, recently got the Spiderbox, it is the business.

Haven't really considered a Sat system before. Been put off in the past because I have a lot of mature trees close to the house which I think may cause signal problems.

I think I would probably need a 1 metre dish on the side of the house too, being from up north and all that.
