Transfer gossip etc
Yep it's around all year and I always read the crap on the bbc. Possibly my all time favourite piece of transfer gossip is this:
Real Madrid will use rookie striker Negredo as bait in a bid for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso - but they will first have to buy back the forward from Almeria.
So they've got an extra hat to pick names out of now, the 2 teams, a player the team has and a player neither team has! Pretty impressive really

City need a good season , get into europe then maybe they may have a chance of attracting top players . Tevez would be a good signing for them tho tbh they are the only club to match the asking price

Former Portsmouth manager Tony Adams has claimed he will become Celtic boss if Wim Jansen is appointed technical director.

I would take TA in a heartbeat but only as defensive coach, he did a great job at Portsmouth in that role. If only Wenger would ask him!

We should run a book on who will be top in the 'linked with' stakes. I guess the front runners will be Man City and Spurs.
Barry obviously meant something else when he said he would only join a club in the CL

Apparently we might be getting some guy called Vermaelen, link
Apparently he's 5'11" another short defender, do we really want that?

I dont think height is really a problem, the guy looks to have a good jump and can head, what has let Arsenal down at set pieces is the ability to track runners in the box and get infront of them.
The height difference between most strikers and 5'11" isnt that much if he gets infront he can head ball away, thats all we need.
Also heard reports that he is pretty strong and can hold players of and challenge effectively in the air.

He gave RVP a hard night in the Amsterdam tournament, RVP lost it as he was bullied all game. Have to wait and see.

Ok if he's as good as Cannavaro in his day, then sure get the guy now. Just hope he can step up to the premier league, which Arshavin did pretty well actually. You know what I'll have faith in Wenger, just pray he's right.
