Just moved house and got this internet now

So this means I can watch streams with a bitrate of about 7,000 KBPS
And I could stream myself at about 700KBPS?

Am I right?

Not really, Mad. You could watch a stream of about 6 Meg, without stutter, if it was hosted on a Liverpool server. Most streams aren't.

You could certainly watch all the streams posted here. Any buffering would be down to your PC setup (programs running in the background), your ISP not providing a steady connection, the limitations of the platform's bandwidth (in the case of browser streams) or the random upload speeds of the connections that P2P platforms like Sopcast set you up with. There are loads of other factors to take into account.

As for streaming yourself, it is even more complicated but you will not be able to stream at 0.7 Meg. More like 0.3 for a browser stream, if you are lucky. About 0.1 for a Sopcast.

Thats about as good as it gets on my phone line. The previous broadband supplier was giving me 0.5Mbps if I was lucky.

Download looking good there Ste but the upload looks a bit odd. I thought uploads were meant to be about 1/10 of your download but maybe that's just BT
