The Balls on this guy!!
John Higgins,
gotta hand it to him. After all that happened, he turns up and wins the uk c'ship. Quality performance. BUT I am still annoyed over the allegations against him. He is one of the greatest players ever. WTF was he doing getting involved in discussions like those. The minute it was mentioned about dropping a frame, he should have been out of there. There will always be a question mark over him.

I agree. I've always liked him but what was he thinking of?
Heard similar stories about both Alex Higgins and White many, many years ago when there was big money to be made on 'correct score'.

it's what you don't know that is surprising, as begs has intimated. All those guys in the eighties were pals, it was probably like Casino, with de niro and pesci, all sorts of scams were going on in snooker. I hope it cleans up now. I love the sport.

surprise surprise bazz lol
what it is really is disappointing. He might have a claim on the title of greatest ever match player. Those times in the last few years when he has come from behind to beat o sullivan at wembley. He has it all. great talent, lovely wife and kids, the respect of his peers (doherty, hendry, davis and ronnie are all pals with him) why risk it as i said.
But you can't deny the brilliance of that comeback

He is corrupt. Not much more to be said really. It demeans the game of snooker that he is playing again at the highest level.

I cant really argue with either of you two,
he seemed to be caught bang to rights,
what i'm saying is, WHY did he do it?? Does he have a gambling problem? the bloke has won everything at least twice, and endorsements, exhibitions etc. Could he be that greedy? What a risk he took. Look I wanted Williams to beat him yesterday.
But whatever, its a shame. nothing is clean, if the world champion is cheating.

You echo'ed my thoughts exactly ruud, when i watched the final last night on the beeb and he won such a dramatic and close fought encouter, the first thought i had was higgins you bollox, why did you, a man who has the abilty to do that in a major final go and seek the easy buck. (Allegedly) Sadly with money it is always shadowed by greed and corruption. His ban was a farce aswell, it was that short i think the ony competition he missed was a game of killers in his local pub like. Ive been a fan of his for years and still like him but was disappointed in him when the storey broke. But i cant help feeling he ws caught but there is alot of others who got away. Plus the irony of seeing a bet182 sponser board behind his head every time he sat in his seat didnt pass me by.

It's greed, pure and simple. The sad thing is that these things are seldom 'first offences', I'm sure he's done it many times before. I have no doubt the game is riddled with corruption, as is horse racing.
Betting is a mugs game for the ordinary punter.... stick to vbookie.

Who was the referee in this game? Was he threatened at the break? Who does the chairman of Snookers governing body support. Why do they play on a green table? Why is the blue ball isolated in the middle of the table?
I think we need clarification
