The Ashes 2009
As the duscussions have started on the rest of the site, may as well give it it's own thread.
After England have just destroyed West Indies, I have more than just hope. Probably not as much expectation but not far from. Freddie should be fit by the start of it as well.
Can't wait.

The bowling attack was always my worry. Jim Jimmy is doing his best to disprove that.
Onions is canny, Broad is faster and cleverer then many think, Swann and Monty as the spin options, never seen enough of Bresnan but hopefully fred is fit anyways.
Could be a good summer.

England a best price 5/2 to win the Ashes. I'd need 5/1 before thinking about betting on them.

Fred'll be the fifth bowler.
Broad (2009's Harmy)
Jimmy (2009's Jones)
Onions (2009's Hoggy)
Swann (2009's Giles, but better)
Fred (God)
Batsmen are class and finding form... and Fred and Prior will get more than a few, in fact I think we bat until 8. It's looking good.

Whatever you do, do not buy this, it's too addictive.

Don't see why they opted for Sophia Gardens in the first place, sacking off trent bridge or somewhere better in the process.
I have heard that the 2 spinners are part of the plans though.

Side note, media has started in earnest. Ponting 'targetting' Strauss. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cric...ia/8057150.stm

That was from druggy, fatty, baldy Warne's column in The Times last week. I think he's just interfering. KP can bowl a bit if we need a second spinner.

Can't believe how everyone's raving about your victory over the West Indies. Cricket in that country is in dire fucken straits. I think they are ranked about 7th in the world but play like they'd struggle to beat Bangladesh. Ffs - we had to buy them a super sopper as they were soaking the water off the ground by hand with sponges. We aren't going to have as good a team as last time - no doubting that but we did the Saffies in Saffieland. Could you do that now? Think not... we're coming mutherfuckers...coming to skullfuck you all 5-0

Matilda,
I think it's the way they won that's making people sit up and take notice.
Anyway, need a theme for fancy dress for when I, along with three other non convicts, attend.
I quite like old women .

I thought you lot got thrown out last time in your Wizard of Oz themed gear.
I worry about people that want to dress up as ladies at the least possible excuse.

Nar, someone yapping on tms i think. They may have read Warnes artichoke like. I'm happy with 1 spinner but it's nice to know the back ups there.
It'll be interesting to see Swanny against the Aussie lefty's, he seems to have a spell ower them at the mo. Especially that Devon Smith.
