Talk Radio Europe
An FSi-er has just started a two week stint on Talk Radio Europe. It's an internet radio station mainly catering to ex-pats in Spain.

He is on, every evening, from 20:00 CET (19:00 in the UK) on Talk Radio Europe.

His first broadcast can be heard here. Choose the date as Monday, 27th September 2010. Time 20:00 - 22:00. He comes on-air about 10 minutes into the broadcast.

If you live in Spain, give his show a ring and give it a bit of support.

Please don't say 'Cunt' if you are on-air.

You may have to install a DirectX add-on. I had to do it via IE.

Think he died on air the number of cock ups he made, lucky he sounds like the only person they have to fill in the 2week gap-the way he went you would think he was pulled from the street 2mins before the start of the show, feel like singing "you dont know what your doing" and who are yeah as said earlier, found it pretty dull to be honest but he knew he did bad by his comments by the end of his show.i see you took your comments out bazz

I know your on ruudboy make the show lively

He'll settle in. Voice sounds like Dave Fanning, was on RTE radio years ago.

Quentin Letts didn't help. Andrew Neil would have shut Letts up when he wanted to speak.

I must admit. I only listened to the first 45 minutes then watched the football.

Just listened to the next hour and I think Ritchie was hi-jacked by a load of posh 'Nigels'. The NWO featured highly in the phone-in. Makes me wonder again about the evangelical zeal of the NWO proponents.

Hey guys and gals,

thanks for the words of support last night and the email from sten,

was hairy!!! Been a few years since i've been behind a microphone and sods law, i come down with laryngitis as well. Should be a lot better tuesday (tonight) won't be as nervous and should have better grip of equipment, hoping to have chat with sten re the site, and the wider issue of ordinary folk having to pay an aussie to watch their game (sorry deadly!!)
By the way Burdock, I had to turn off my microphone when the guy said the thing about chopping babys in quarters and eating them. WTF!!

It's crazy in spain

listen thanks again, i'll be in the livechat at weekend to calm my nerves during saturdays footie!!!!!!
keep listening i do get better

OT. FSi has evolved since its inception.

The original raison d'ętre was to counteract 'rip-off' sites that were charging joining fees and often PPV fees for links to matches. At the time, this was common practice and the sites would often fly-by-night, leaving their members out of pocket.

FSi offered free access to the same (and often better) information, making the rip-off sites' business model redundant. People could trust links provided by FSi as we had no reason to exaggerate the likelihood of a link being available to lure in more paying punters.

As times (and internet advertising) have moved on, a lot of streamers are now earning advertising revenue from their streams. At present, this seems to be a necessary 'evil' that we have to put up with.

Other sites, however, just embed other people's streams on their own site and sit back and watch the dollars build up in their bank account. We try to avoid providing links to sites like this.

Finally we move on to sites similar to FSi which, amongst other things, collate information on links. These sites invariably have advertising and therefore have the same need to get people to use their site as the early rip-off sites had. No visitors = no revenue.

FSi has never received a penny from advertising and all 'staff' are volunteers. If we weren't volunteers, we'd have gone on strike years ago.

It has been posited that we carry 1 charity ad, similar to Barca, with all revenue going to the named charity. Unfortunately, this opens a legal can of worms and isn't really a starter.

Started listening at about 22:45 tonight, your time, Ruud. Some OAP Chelsea supporter on.

Noeleen confused me. She wanted more talk about Spanish TV but wanted discussion on Ireland. WTF? To be honest, she sounded like an auld Biddy.

I'm going to listen to the start of the Chelsea man's phone call. I connected too late to get his point.
