Supporters lounges
I think it would be good to see the return of the lounges. For those that don't know these were team specific where you could debate your team with other supporters of the same team or supporters of other teams as long as they weren't shit stirring. There is some cack being written in the Arsenal thread at the moment but I have been thinking about this for a while-another point about the lounges was the work put into them-HH did a great one for the spuds for instance. Just a thought.

To be honest it has been on my mind as well. I get along with banter but when people start on the sole intention to rile you it takes the biscuit. Most people will realise I don't tend to rise to the bait but I think things are going a bit OTT with it.
I remember getting done for flaming after a nothing comment about Tottenham's pre season games. Very strict back in the day.

If any of my comments in your team thread offended any of you then I apologise for it
I don't remember the lounges. What's the difference between a lounge and a thread?

Basically the lounges was put there by FSi, and was monitored by them. The threads are made by the fans.
Like I have already said mfc1876, I am all for a bit of banter, don't mind it at all. But when people start winding everyone before the teams fan has even put up a comment about the game then it ain't even banter its just someone being a WUM. Now things in my private life my be contributing but I have a very short fuse at the moment and can't stand people who wants to go around and piss people off.

The problem with the lounges was that most didn't get used and some people took offence far too easily in the lounges that were used. An innocent comment, whether valid or not, often resulted in hand-bags at ten paces if it was made by a supporter of another team.
Snappie was right to draw attention to posts in the Man. U Arsenal thread that were off-topic and I'm sure that MFC and Greenman will acknowledge that and continue their love/hate relationship in a more appropriate thread.
Just my opinion.

I was trying to draw attention to Greenman's 'trolling' by asking him to take a look at his behaviour. Anyone knows that if you go into another teams thread and start taking their club apart it's gonna cause friction. As far as I'm aware I've never done that? It's a shame he's getting a lot of people's back's up when this has always been a great community, well since I started using FSi properly it has anyway.
I understand though that I shouldn't have made my comment in that thread in respone to his 'troll' activities and again I will apologise for it.

I see, your all saying this is all down to me and my behaviour, if that is the case and I have offended any one at all, then I'm truly sorry and I apologise for it.
I far as I was concerned it was just banter, Newcastle fans has taken a great deal of stick over the years for other clubs fan and still do, but we have taken it and still take in good humor with the knowledge that, what go's around comes around, but it seem that it doesn't.
But I do apologise to those who feel I've upset them, and that go's to for Burdock and his video, I found funny.

Cant see the harm in posting in other teams threads as long as its not insulting , a bit of piss taking upto a point shouldnt do any harm either . Nothing personal tho . Look on the bright side at least people are posting lol There was apoint when no one did and the forum was dead . Too many rules spoil a forum but it should all stay light hearted all the same

I enjoy the banter as much as anyone else but a teams thread should contain relevant points about that team-this isn't just about the Arse thread either. I liked that the lounges were policed by a fan of that team and some were full of reports, pictures and videos (not ours) and the relevant mods put a lot of work into them. I was not trying to have a go at any individual(s) just wondered what the opinion was on bringing back the lounges.

Lounges have been done, they did not work, well 2 did though they both ended up in slagging sections, not hard to guess which teams. Actually another did, the spurs one which was well updated with some decent news and threads, loved the upgraded new white hart lane one, building plans and everything, whatever happened to that idea.
I prefer the open a thread in football chat about your team and talk about anything you want and get some decent banter back way, seems to work better imo. The only thing the mods look out for is if anything gets personal or someone is being an out and out spaz. Members normally report any crap going on before anyone else comments on it anyway.
Forum ideas are always welcome.

Well, I've spent the evening having a couple of pints with the lads chatting about this and that, the usual kind of things, and was also pondering why I've said sorry and been apologetic hear yesterday, and thought, what the fuck for, for the life of me I can't see why I did it, In the beginning hear, I thought, nice, a bunch of guys from different clubs having a good old natter with the usual back and forward banter and the wind ups which is all part of the football fans life, just as you do in a pub before and after a match or in the stands or when you out with your mates and the supporters of other clubs after matches, that kind of thing.
But it isn't like that hear at all, its more like a knitting and sowing circle (supporter club) were your not allowed in to there circle in case you upset one of the girls or say anything to anyone which will brings on a hissing fit.
No the wonder some of the members of the site don't bother with the forums, they think its become boring, some member are even saying it its dying on its feet, maybe there right who knows time will time.
You'll have to wake up guys and smell the coffee or the forums it will die all together.
So after getting it off my chest as its been bugging me most of the evening, I'll bid you all, adieu, and look for a forum that has some people who enjoy a good chin wag, a bit of banter and yes the wind ups.
By all.

Well, tbh, there are wind ups and piss taking - but I have to agree some of the posts were just going too far, which unfortunately, did seem mainly to come from you. Generally windups occur in a friendly, humorous way - going onto a thread just to say something that generally seemed to amount to "your team is shit hahaha" when a: they weren't involved with your team at all, match day-wise, and b: done in an obvious obnoxious way; is not going to win you many friends - here or anywhere else.
I know a few have questioned, in private, your age, and, at times, your spelling, quotes, mannerisms and grammar did point to someone perhaps younger than the general age group here, so perhaps and probably your "musings" were taken in a different context.
On another note, you mentioned people find the forum "boring, dying on its feet" which, if I recall correctly, was fishtoast describing what a former member "ruudboy" had claimed. As you never knew ruudboy and weren't around when he was you don't know what happened. To clarify, ruudboy was a former outspoken moderator here who upset quite a few people; deleted posts without permission and deleted posts that disagreed with his opinions - as well as banning people for disagreeing with him. He was demoted without much fanfare and promptly vanished from here. Soon after, his description that the FSI forum had become boring, etc .. appeared on his facebook.
A few people here like to wind others up - but they don't step over the line and all responses are usually made in the same level. In my time here, only two people have, unfortunately, brought negative reactions of this level, this consistently: you and ruudboy. Usually, most arguments are cleared up in a matter of posts/hours.
You will also find in related websites and forums, which provide this type of free service, only a small percentage of members will actually post as often and consistently as is found here. So comments like "No the wonder some of the members of the site don't bother with the forums" is rather pointless.
In conclusion, whilst it's never nice to see anyone go, I wish you good luck in finding a forum that will suit your "skills" so to speak, and needs, and hope said forum is as entertaining and amusing as this forum actually is, when participated properly.

It has always been that you can't flame other supporters threads, a bit of a niggle wind up but that's about it. If someone gets offended, say sorry move on. Lots of people support different clubs and have different opinions, we don't have to agree on everything someone says. If you want to wind people up and have banter I thought that's what the pub thread is for.
It is good to see lots of posts and from new members but only if they are going with the flow.
If you are going Greenman nice to meet you and chat and good luck on other forums.
You may find another magpie supporter called Grumpy git who was a black and white on here few years ago.

My understanding of the situation was that apologies were being offered for posting comments about Newcastle/Middlesbrough in a thread clearly entitled 'Arsenal 2011/12'. Nothing more. I didn't think that you apologised for anything else. Did anybody even ask you to apologise for anything?
