Sunderland sack Steve Bruce
http://www.football365.com/news/2155...and-Sack-Bruce

Not surprising given they are in a horrendous run .. but then so are Blackburn and Steve Kean is still boss there

Steve Kean should never have been made a manager in the first place. It's the Blackburn fans I really feel sorry for. They have owners who are delusional and clearly clueless and a manager with about as much talent as pigeon droppings.

To come out and say after a QF that he had in fact basically just thrown the match, shows absolute disregard to the travelling supporters. And bear in mind before the tie, he was saying how they were taking it seriously ..

I have absolutely no respect for Steve Kean.

Steve Bruce isn't the best manager either, but I would rather a manager with little tactical nous than one without any whatsoever.

Not surprising really, but struggling to think of an experienced manager who will go there and turn things around.

Mark Hughes as well I suppose.

It will be interesting to see if the new manager will get funds in January or if Sunderland are already planning for the worst.

I think the final straw was when he brought in Bendtner

Overpaid for a lot, plus he only bought in prem league rotation players, except for wickham, who he paid over the roof for. Used to like bruce as a manager but he has dissappointed me past couple of seasons.

I'd like to see MoN and mark hughes back in prem league, both two of the better managers that have been in prem league.

I don't think the signings are too bad and most were cheap, apart from Wickham I don't think he paid over the odds for the others, Brown at 1m was a snip and Larssen came for a free.He did get us a fair bit of money in from transfers too.
The problem has been his insistence in playing 4-5-1 at home that has been the main gripe of the fans. No disrespect to Wigan but most managers would have played an attacking formation against them at home. Bruce played 1 striker and 2 holding mid-fielders.
