Caulfield Cup run last Saturday. You poms had two horses in it Cima de Triomphe (Hoity Toity posh bastard) and Kirklees - apparently much better than our horses but they say that every year. I had my dosh on Roman Emperor. This race is generally thought of as the best form guide for the Melbourne Cup which is an extra 800 metres so you want to pick a horse thats full of running at the end of this even if it doesnt win. Remember Viewed came last in this race last year then came out and won the Cup at 40/1 conveniently beating my horse Bauer by a bees dick and costing me a fortune... anyway the Caulfield Cup...
I'm not as certain as i was about Bauer last year but i'm going Alcopop for the win and a couple of box trifectas - 1,11,9 and 1,11,20. Here's the online form guide - http://smhformguide.realviewtechnologies.com/
yeah going well Viewed - Only just scraped in last year with about 7 kgs less than he has to carry this year but old Bart has only won 12 cups so he knows what he's doing. I backed Roman Emperor last week for his second in the caulfield cup but didn't like the way he finished off. He'll be one for next year i think. Ideally you want a horse that has been finishing off his races well and those would be Alcopop, Viewed, Daffodil, Shocking etc It's blowing a gale which wont help the top weight.
There ya go - wasn't far off on my prediction of run on horses with Shocking - didn't back it though. It's bizarre that a couple of weeks back Alcopop beat Shocking by 4 lengths ???? and the internationals filling the placings - never even looked at em!
