Sony blu ray player
Treated myself to one of these today, $89 you can't go wrong, can you? Anyway, plugged a d-link wireless stick into the back of it to make it wireless but no good, says onscreen "device not supported", is this Sony sticking it to me so that I buy theirs or is there something I can/need to do to my router?

what's the model number champ? For $89 bux it might not support wireless. I've got all Panasonic gear. Are you trying to send movies to other rooms in the house ?

bdp-270 is the model number Deadly, it does support wireless-Sony will sell me their stick for $70 which is a bit rich, I am thinking of taking it back and switching models now. I googled the bugger and I read on another forum about some guy who updated his router and did a load of stuff and got his working eventually but it was a complicated process that didn't work for most others! I am not trying to send movies elsewhere it was just for firmware upgrades and some of the online content like World Cup classics that I watched yesterday-that was a great watch by the way.

I read that all Panasonic blu ray players are now made region free, is yours?

not sure mate - haven't finished the novel that came with it lol - 60 pages for the blu ray/surround and 50 pages for the plasma...i'm gunna do a firmware upgrade today - you can just use an ethernet cable would solve your problem quicker and the wireless adapter problem would more than likely be fixed with the upgrade
