Tonight I came on to look for the Newcastle Celtic Game. What happened on this site was that I was sent round in circles. I came upon pages with no clarity whatsoever. That Includes a page with messages about last season. So I gather the game is not available. Well fair enough. I can take that. I appreciate that this is a free site but tonight was a mess. This is not the
same site as it was last season. Oh yeah and I forgot to mention after logging in and being told that I was logged in I kept getting redirected to the login window again. What a mess. I know that this is a free site but I have to point out that the current state of affairs is shambolic.

Did you look in the 'Live Streams' forum?

Well I have to disagree. I find this site very easy to get around in, never have any problems. Friendly games aren't going to be streamed as much as competitive games.

I don't know about your login problems, but for live streams.. now get this complicated set of instructions.. you click 'live streams' on the big blue bar that runs across the top of the site.
Cracking first post btw.

Just a thought. As this guy seems to be geographically challenged, perhaps we should put this where it belongs...in the 'Problems with the Site' forum'.
http://www.fsicrew.info/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=&f=29
That way, if he or anyone needs help in the future they will be able to find it because it will be where it is supposed to be! That will help address one of his OWN issues, anyway!
I've never been redirected back to the log in page so i don't know what his issue is there.
I'm wondering if this is grumpy? What do you think?

Nice FIRST post greenhill. No earlier posts from you about where to look, asking for links etc just a straightforward post criticising the site.
Now if you claim to have used the site last season then I'm sure you must have accessed the feedback threads before?
Let me put you clear on the picture...
Links are now posted here;
http://www.fsicrew.info/streams.html
Now a link was posted for the New - Celtic match but the channel was offline. This message was passed on to everyone on several threads including the Feedback thread here;
http://www.fsicrew.info/forums/showthread.php?p=40806#post40806
Now this is where most members look for the latest info. And if you claimed to have used the site last season then checking here should have been second nature for you.
Now as far I'm aware we had everything covered.
I exect you to understand everything I have posted here and post a reply that it was partly your fault that you didn't look in the correct places. Otherwise I will consider a WUM of the first degree!

Do you need a mod/admin just for the sole purpose of following these numpty's about putting them in their place?

It may have been my first message but I am not a new member. I have been a member for seven months. I have watched many streams with no problems. Yes it was grumpy but I was feeling grumpy because of the circumstances.
The actual page with the links was confusing. When I tried to get further info from the forums I kept on getting redirected to the login. That is part of what happened. I can actually hardly describe the rest of it because it was so disorienting.
I have calmed down now but I must say I am dissapointed by the string of assumptions that many of the correspondents have made. e.g the guy who went on about how he had not experienced redirection to the login page. So is he saying that it did not happen to me ? Well let me tell him it did happen. Yes he is right about the grumpiness but dead wrong about the redirection issue.
Now here is another quote :
"Now this is where most members look for the latest info. And if you claimed to have used the site last season then checking here should have been second nature for you.
Now as far I'm aware we had everything covered."
Yes it was second nature because it is essential to do so. Everyone with experience of using the site knows that. However as I have already mentioned I kept on getting sent to login. I eventually did access the info but not after having gone round and round and getting grumpier and grumpier.
So I am sorry about being so vexed . On the other hand I have seen a lot of games here with no problems at all so I also say thanks for that.

greenhill, first off.. when you login you will see a checkbox called 'remember me' it should automatically be checked which will keep you logged in, if you uncheck it you will get logged out after a few minutes of inactivity, its a security thing.. It wouldnt be very nice for you to not logout whilst in an internet cafe and then find the next person to use the pc login in your name and abuse your account would it!! If you are using your own pc then keep that checkbox checked!
The site isn't really that hard to navigate, ok, so you were confused by the setup, thats understandable, not everyone will get it first time round.. but without us having a huge finger pointing the way there isnt much more we can do to make the navigation any easier.. theres posts in a few of the forums that point you to where you need to go.. the red LIVE STREAMS link in the navigation bar should be easy to spot.. again, with you being used to the old format your error in finding the links could be classed as an oversight!
But for you to say the site is a shambles is bang out of order! Its so easy to get round now its almost impossible to get lost.. at the end of the day you have two options, come here for links or don't, we don't care either way, to have a pop at the people that help run this site for free is something we won't accept..
We do not force you to come here, its a choice you make alone, all I can say is get a grip, take it as is or fuck off to a different site.. the choice is yours, like I said.. we don't give a rats arse what you do!

Hang on a second Scudd. What makes you think I did not click on the live streams link ? I did notice it and I did click on it. As far as i remember it did not take me straight to the links that I found for the game.I had to go further as there were more options. However I did find a link to the game but nothing can be relied upon with streams. Links do not always work. I know that. When i said I had no previous problems with the site I did not mean the links.I know they can be unreliable.
I always check those remember me boxes. I was getting logged out so I logged in only to be instantly logged out again. That is not in line with being logged out after a few minutes of inactivity.Besides i was never inactive during that visit to the site.
I do reckon that I appologised for my tone so I cannot see how swearing at me is appropriate.
Again let me make it clear I did click on the live streams link. I expected that I would arrive at a one stop shop with all the links. That is not the case but I am not complaining about that. I just kept going. I then had further options. Was Newcastle v Celtic under English or Scottish options ? I tried both. I just kept on going untill I got the links. Then I got into a viscious circle.
Why are people making the assumption that I did not click on the Live Streams link ?
bookworm
29-07-2007, 04:01 PM
You click on the LIVE STREAMS then you'll see a large flashing banner at the top which says 'Pre-season Friendlies' and 'Click here for links'. I don't think you saw that part because that's where all the 'pre-season' links are posted.

Greenhill, you want to know why we take offence? It isn't the fact that you didn't try to get the link, regardless of what happened, if you were going round in circles etc. You didn't once post asking for help, or enquire as to why you were possibly going round in circles. Then you complained that the site is a shambles. Had you bothered to ask for help, THEN still found the problems, peole might see where you are coming from.
We like to think we are good at our jobs, but as of yet, none of us are mind readers, as much as some people on this site sometimes think we are.
Our guys do a thankless task, do it for free too. So next time you want to complain, think about it first. Constructive criticism however, we welcome!!

Thanks Bookworm.
I saw that sign and right underneath it is a Map so I clicked on Europe because I reckoned that Newcastle v Celtic would be in the European Section and that took me to the options for English and Scottish. If you look at that page there is a flashing message but it is right above obvious links corresponding to different parts of the World.
I thought the flashing message was telling me to click on one of those links.
There is a lack of clarity. How was I to know that I was to click on the flashing sign. My cursor was on the map and the sections of the map light up showing that they are links. It was the obvious thing to click on Europe. In addition I was then taken to a page with options for links. So how was I to know that anything went wrong ? Try it yourself and you will see.

Have to disagree. It's all clear to me. It's a new set-up but we've kept it as simple as possible. With regards to the flashing banner - we wouldn't say 'click here' if we wanted you to click on the map. You cannot put a 'geographical' location on a pre-season game hence the reason why the 'pre-season' section was created specifically.
At the end of the day like Pepsisi said above you didn't make a single post about your problems. We always try our best to help no matter how stupid the problem may be - and we've had a fair few of those. At the end of the day if the set-up is not clear and simple for you then you have an easy decision to make. Leave.
greenhill
29-07-2007, 05:13 PM
You may not have wanted me to click on the map but the message was flashing directly above the map. The map is a series of geographical links.
And it was fair for me to reckon that friendly games were being played somewhere on this planet. These games are not being played on the moon. I may be clear to you but you must see how easy it is to be led astray. Flashing signs are not always links. Very often in various web sites click here signs are placed in close proximity to the actual links. The flashing sign was placed above obvious links. That was an error. So I totally disagree with you. I cannot see how we can progress this any further. I admit to being unreasonable in the way I put my point forward at first. I did appologise.I can do no more.
bookworm
29-07-2007, 05:20 PM
Say if Celtic are playing a friendly against Inter in Honk Kong where would you post the link? Post in Scottish football someone will say they looked in the Italian section but didn't see the game. Post in the Italian section and vice versa. Post in the asian section and you get the same problems again. Pre-season link was created to help people. We didn't anticipate an idiot like you to have a problem.
Now stop fookin' arguing and enjoy the site or else you will leave this site whether its on your own accord or not.

From what I was confronted with I would click in the part of the world where the game was being played. That is what I did.
However your thinking was correct a seperate link for such games was spot on. It was the execution of that idea that went wrong. The essential point is that the flashing sign was placed above those geographical links. It was not clear that the flashing sign was a seperate link.
I did appoligise but now you are being unreasonable and abusive so kick me out if you wish.I will not leave of my own accord. If you feel the need to get petty satisfaction out of doing so then go ahead.
