Hi Folks
Is there a way that browser streamed matches can be recorded so that if you are not able to watch at the time of the match all is not lost(excuse the pun)
Is there a programme available that would do this and if so what is it?
Many thanks for all you guys do,you give a lot of pleasure to millions of fans
Cheers Dandiy

It is perfectly easy to record a stream but there is probably not enough potential uptake for streamers to consider re-streaming them.

Apparently you can do it using VLC player. I will look into it later upon my return home.

Reply media catcher will record flash streams but you would need a hack copy of it or it will cost you to download it.

I might have read this wrongly. I was thinking that dandyiy wanted somebody else to record the matches and re-stream them. If you are in the house and able to hit the 'Record' button, why not watch the match?

Setting up the timer would be a bugger as there is a good chance that the stream would be 'pulled'. How would it know to change to the new stream?

You could be right maybe I have read it wrongly I would say there would be no chance of a streamer recording it and putting it back online.

If it is a program to record you are right that there would be no guarantees that the stream would stay alive or the record would work 100% all you could really do was to try and pick one that very rarely gets pulled ie zonein. You would also need to be there to start the record if it is not a 24/7 stream.

Easiest way would just to download a game loads of downloads out there for the main games.

Thanks for all the efforts Lads
What I am looking for is a way to get my PC to record a particular match when I am away from it.I don't mind having to leave my PC running,so am looking for a method of getting the thing to start to record at the correct time on a selected live stream
If you see what I mean.
Cheers Dandiy

Cheers DandiyIs this (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_record_video_from_sopcast.cfm) any good? You would have to have the stream running when you set it recording.

Just tested this on my comp and it works a treat. The resulting .asf file plays in both Windows Media Player and VLC Player although I do have a codec pack installed on my PC for Windows Media Player (WMP).

If the stream doesn't play on the OP's PC then you'll just need to download either VLC Player or a codec pack for WMP, either of which we can provide a link for ;)

That's Sopcast sorted, just need to find out how to record web streams now! (joke)

p.s. Still never found out where the files went when I tried to record using VLC player itself???

This could be handy for me as Brighton are on twice this week and I have to work both nights, although still trying to sort out cover for the Liverpool game. Thanks for the link to info begs, sure I have tried this before but without instructions, typical bloke. :D
Edit: Works a treat although my circle goes from white to red which is the opposite of the guide.
