Im thinking that it may be an idea to have links to local radio and the games that are on ( for example, and im making this up, radio midlands may have a birmingham game on thier commentary).
I listened to leeds utd V my beloved Bristol Rovers in Utah(thats America!) on radio leeds.
For those of us whose team does not and will never appear on any tv links it is a way to feel at home again. is there a quick way to figure out what team may be on what station online?
PS Im not really a noob as ive been using this site for over 3 years just enjoying the links you genius's( or is it genii)provide for me on a regular basis, thanks for all you do

Hi, It's a valid point but from my experience I think that most, if not all, of the BBC (or other) regional sites pull the commentary at kick off. The reason is to make you buy the "world" commentary (most league sides have the commentary available via the club's website for a fee). The clubs own the rights to the commentary on the net and most use the World service. However, there are occasions when the local BBC sites forget to turn the commentary off and it is available for free (probably the case in your Leeds v Bristol Rovers instance). However, this is rare (I have checked for every Carlisle match this season and it has happened once). Most of the time you get a message stating that "this program is unavailable due to contract restrictions".
Best thing we can do, as a community, is to post and let each other know when they have forgotten to switch off the stream(s).

where would it be most appropriate to post such information

The feedback thread. We put up the radio five links but it's possible that others may be looking in. If a lot of links are getting posted we would probably start an audio commentary thread somewhere.
Have you managed to get an audio stream sorted for this evening's match?

Radio Tees (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/tees.shtml) (Hartlepool) Not working!
Radio Bristol (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/mainframe.shtml?http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/bristol.shtml) seems to have stayed on!!

OK, Boss. How about this?

When I get a chance (probably the weekend). I'll go through the regions and rip the links. Then people can check them against the team your team is playing (e.g. I checked Tees and Bristol tonight for your match).

Tried to listen to Everton/Arse on a Liverpool station about a year ago and it was pulled too.

1,000 posts!! Time for a drink.
They are more often than not pulled. Especially for premiership matches. But the tin pot local sites do leave them on every so often for the lower league teams.

So say i'm you Sharky sitting in London listening to the footy on the radio. Can you stream that over the net so as to bypass that restriction bs. That would work wouldn't it?

Deadly. Usual disclaimer. We don't stream anything.
If someone decided to stream radio, it would be a lot easier done than TV. Less upload speed required. I wouldn't like to encourage anyone to break the law but how could I stop them.
FSi does not encourage anybody to break the law or cover their relations in honey and lick them clean. That would be sooo.. wrong.
