Experiencing problems again today with the speed of the site. It always runs really slow for me before and during a game.
A little disapointed could not even access the site at one stage and was indeed painfully slow, granted there must have been a fair few members loging on as well but I thought with a new server we would be over that problem

It took me over an hour today just to download the website, then another 30 mins to get the English Games thread. Not very impressed. Is there a problem or just too many viewers?

Houston we have a problem.
Its being worked on, just like anything new, we´ll have teething trouble.

:| I apreciate that, I was a litle disapointed in thinking that we would be trouble free on the first Saturday(When it went belly up before) and enjoy what for me is the Number One site on the web where footy is concerned as were everybody involved, but as you rightly point out it is new and teething/gremlins do appear and do happen,I'd like to think our comments and feed back in these early days are more Constructive and not Scornful or detract from anything or anybody that makes this the site what it is....:drink:

What i do to avoid exactly whats happened to you, is log onto the site first thing on a saturday morning, and open the THIS WEEKS LINKS page, and minimize it until such a time as you want to watch a game. Some people copy and paste the page onto a word document as well. There are ways around it . Also, if you have all the correct software to watch the streams, then you can log on direct to the websites and have a rake around yourself.
It's not rocket science mate!!!

Maybe the back end software is unable to cope with the number of users? If the new server is as slow as the old one around kick-off, the likely suspect is the website software (vBulletin + any customisations that have been added).
If the problem is the software it won't matter which server is used, it will always grind to a halt.

If you want a little insurance, further to what mjm advised, Just save the relevant this weeks links on a fri night or sat morning. Click 'file' in the top left of internet explorer then 'save as' and save it to my pictures, the thread can then be accesed even when offline

We're still tinkering as we go, hopefully you'll find its running smoother now. Worked great yesterday with a load of users on.8)
