newby question but

how good is the quality if you plug say your laptop into a standard tv and watch the football on that? I take it you would use the USB port from the laptop then go into the back of the telly. Anyone done it?

sounds alright mate. I would only use it for games that were NOT on sky or setanta because I have those channels. Wud be looking for 3pm saturday ones but I take it the quality is still good?

tats tryed to tell you before you don't need hdmi slot with this it uses red white and yellow jack plugs or s video to connect to TVs`s as well

VGA cable will use your speakers on your laptop as basically your tv becomes an extension of your monitor. So used some different speakers

You have to change monitor choice on the laptop or something like that Suzie, my son knows how to do it but he ain't in! I will ask him later and post it if none of our brighter types don't do it first.

You need to go to the display properties, settings and change it so the tv becomes an extension of your desktop.
How I get there, right click on desktop, properties, settings, then click on the 2nd monitor and check the box saying "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor". Then on the tv you have to change it to the pc input (it's literally called pc on my tv lol). Hope that helps

on a laptop press f2 this should extend your desktop to extension you may have to press once or twice depending on what windows software you are running on xp its once

just wanted to say thanks to everyone who posted with help...I finally got my laptop on my 37" lcd and it is brilliant :D I did do it via the vga cable but the problem was that my laptop was rather old and I had to update all my drivers and then restart it and I couldnt believe it when I seen my laptop come up on the big screen!!! Tats I really recommend it I can't wait to watch my first match on it now I caught a little bit of a spanish game and it was a really good picture. Thanks again a happy Suzie :D
