How good is your internet, what speed do you have?
Give streams time to settle, close non essential programs so that you free up resources.

A few of the browser platforms appear to be getting close to being 'maxed out' at the moment. They usually stick another server or two on when this has happened over a period of time.
In the meantime, try Sopcast.

Check your broadband speed here (http://www.speedtest.net/) ,you do need a good speed for a lot of the sites now. Like Begbie said try and use sopcast for the best quality again only if your speed is good. It may be worth running something called ccleaner (http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner) which is free, and it gets rid of all your history and basically other crap to speed your browsing up, which won't do any harm.
