Lads and Ladies,

Whilst the amount of traffic we receive through this site is still high and rising, not as many visitors getting their links from FSi are venturing into the forum as before.

We believe that there are two reason behind this:

1) The structure and content of the forum is overly extensive and contains a lot of out of date information. Therefore, we have decided to significantly reduce the number of sub forums and irrelevant threads within the forum. We believe this will encourage new members to become involved in the forums and discussions that are taking place.

2) Due to the increasing traffic around KO time, our server can't cope. This is something of a Catch-22 situation. When we increase the server capacity, the number of people accessing the links increases, which in turn uses up the available server capacity.

As you know, we only exist due to your generosity and have to live within our means to enable us to provide the service throughout the year. We regularly 'shop-around' for improved value.

When the reorganisation goes ahead, please ensure that any pages saved in your 'favourites' are backed up off-line, if you consider them to be important.

Please note we are not advocating the deletion of all the threads and sub-forums on the site. We're just having a big tidy up to try and make the forum more user-friendly.

FSI team.

will our post count drop when you tidy up? i remember deleting some old threads in the west ham lounge when i had a brief stint on board and lost about 200 or so posts.

also how about somehow linking the streams alongside the forum? i.e you have to click the forum link to get to the streams?

Eggy, yes it will bring your post count down. But I'm sure, like us, you would rather have a busy forum.

Second point. The links page (http://www.footballstreaming.info/streams/todays-links/) gets in the region of 2 million hits and hour on a Saturday afternoon. There is no way the forum could handle a fraction of that traffic. So, making people look at the forum would also bring down the links page! The admin sorts have worked hard to make sure we have a links page which holds up, no matter how busy it is...and it does. It did today for the whole time the forum was struggling.

We're just trying to make the site more user friendly. It has a lot of out of date information on it currently and too many sections/sub-forums.

Is there not any way user accounts could be closed if there not used in a while. As they do on some torrent sites. That way people would be more liable to post in some of the forums

Post count means nothing, but yeah pretty much all my posts are crap so expect that to fall. Whatever needs to be done to keep this site running better should be done :)

This item concerns me as I dont post very often, but use the site regularly to watch matches from downunder! Also I have been a member from the 'old' days and prior to that from the original Free Football Streaming site in the days of Peercast etc and Cypriot entrepreneurs!! Now how many people will remember that? I only remember because my HP laptop crashed last week for the second time in 24 months....HP are a pile of sh**te. So I dug out my trusty old desktop from the wardrobe where it was unpacked and left when delivered from storage. It has not been used since 2005! I have spent 2 days catching up with all the updates required, Microsoft alone over a hundred. After that I binned all the original streaming software and downloaded upto date Sopcast, TVU and TVAnts. The latter download site is not very user friendly I have to say. Anyway I would be very very upset if I was deleted due to lack of postings!!
Thanks for the site fellers, its the mainstay of all overseas football fans even at deadly hours of the night (sorry Will I could not resisit that one!) and is recommended to all and sundry...if that helps.
Apart from that if I can help at any time you just have to let me know.

when the powers that be delete any accounts they can look at what that person has contributed to the site in posting the above the likely hood of you being deleted is small also it would only take a few Min's to make another account i hope this dispels your worries

Take a seat and allow me to explain:

There is a difference between users who are "not posting" and are "inactive". Inactive accounts are the ones that never look at the site; they're the ones that get deleted rather than users who look at the site, but don't post.

Thanks for that clarification, I agree inactive accounts should be cleared regularly rather than not very often posting users. By the way I got up this morning at 0400 to catch the rest of the semifinal......and found it was finished!? Was the time wrong, I thought it was 0315 start? Have not looked it up today...too knackered after having the grandchildren for a few days!

Edit: I've just noticed that it has changed again, you're all on AEST. Sorry. I'd better go and sort things out.

According to this site:-

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converted.html?day=19&month=4&year=2009&hour=16&min=0&sec=0&p1=136&p2=240

Deadly is right - 4pm here is 1am Aussie time. And the BBC has the game starting at 4pm:-
