SHTV, GDTV...etc etc
basically i am at work on a night shift.
i was slightly dismayed that the united v celtic game wasn't on SHTV in fact i discovered that SHTV ch 6001 on sopcast wasn't even online and i couldn't get it on ppstream either.

anyway i watched the game using a flash stream without too many problems but it got me thinking.

shtv are famous for showing every man united game and i even remember watching the pre seasons last year on that channel, it was always reliable if you could put up with chinese commentry which never bothered me.

so i did some research and somebody told me on another forum that SHTV took a beating on the world cup rights and now can't broadcast epl games! is this true??

i did a bit more research (i am really bored at work!!) and i was trying to establish which channels that are already available on the p2p platforms will be showing the EPL and more importantly united next season.

basically i am slightly concerned that with the ever reliable SHTV and with more and more people turning to flash streams united fans could struggle to watch their side.

during my research i came accross an article that suggested that GDTV has won the rights to show the EPL from 2010 until 2013. has this channel disappeared from soppy? i haven't seen a link for ages. but is this due to losing the rights back in 2007 and is it possible that it will reappear?

my dad is a huge united fan but bless him he is not great at this internet stuff and i had a lovely little system in place where i had the SHTV soppy link placed in a notepad for him and all he had to do was copy and pste it into his browser, i had a ppstream one there too incase of emergancies. and basically i am looking to do a similar thing for him this time.
(he struggles to open up fsi and follow the links from this page believe it or not)

anyway, its 4am and i'm sleep deprieved so sorry bout the long post.

if guangdong has got the tv rights it used to sell some of the matches to a few other Chinese channels shanghai tended to hold what it had so matches may be available via several chinese streams again like pre 2007 rights issue

so as long as our far eastern friends continue to stream then GD may be a reliable source for matches from August on

shanghai tv and guangdong moved now to pplive and other minor p2p-software.
it seems its no more on tvants, tvu or sopcast unless they decide to stream again on their former channels.
i would wait till seasons starts, perhaps they will come back soon.

i agree with you that the most streamers use any flash-streams at the moment. veetle, vlc, zonein and ustream seems to be the most used flash-streams. god thanks, the number of justin -feeds is reduced because crap.

i was using ppstream for SHTV i loved it but my ppstream either seems to have stopped working or SHTV has been removed.

whats uusee like i remember trying to install it once and getting frustrated and removing it, is it worth another go?
also what version of pplive are you using? that was really good for cricket during the last ashes series

About a year ago (or more), I posted an FSi add-on for Ustream which gave an English channel list. I'll wait until the new season to decide if it is worth updating.
