Should we say we?

Our clubs are important to us, gives us identity etc. but can we actually say "we're playing XYZ this weekend" (XYZ play in the Dutch eighth Division btw) or "we beat ABC on Saturday" (ABC play in the Belgian Juliper League 10).

Surely it shouldn't be "we" and/or should be "they"?

Thoughts?

depends on if you see yourself as part of the club hence we or merely a spectator then they

But "we" are not doing it. They, the players are. They can say "we", we can't? We're sat on the side eating pies and drinking bovril!!

yes but how many times have fans been described by players as the 12th man
they /we have a role to play as well that often does contribute a ref bowing to claims from a large home support for example

If we said, "They", when referring to our own team, how would we be able to establish if we are referring to the team that our own team is playing against or our own team?

My head hurts after trying to write that. ^^^^

I usually say United and not we. I don't feel United and myself are a collective. Not since they sacked me from their youth team back in 1996. Wankers.

I say we and when somebody says "well it's not we really is it?" I just say "Yes it is we. I have the Arsenal training top for I am currently training with them, I even scored that late winner against Barcelona the other day"

Yeah basically I just make up a load of crap. It amuses me.
