Short list for the Wales job?
As an Irishman, Wales have my total sympathy. We've been down this road after Staunton. You're wondering who in the name of Jaysus wants to manage us I hope they don't go offering Sven or his like the post. I'm sure they won't. As someone who isn't really interested in international football anymore, I still watch with interest when the home nations look for a coach.
Mickey thomas has said that Ryan Giggs and Brian Flynn as a combo would be his choice!! WTF!! Don't think Giggs will stop playing to take the wales job!

More sensible names being mentioned are Coleman and Speed, although Speed is arguably not experienced enough

I don't think MON would even consider the job.

Have to agree though, he is a superb manager and would get the best out of any team.

I also think O neill has got something about him. Yet when Liverpool parted company with Rafa, it seems they didn't consider an approach for O neill. I know he was still Villa manager but strange Liverpool didn't look at him as option. Maybe they did and it never came to light.

I suppose my point is, I'd like to see him have a crack at one of the so called top jobs, just to see is he this visionary that many of us think he might be.

The wales job is not an option, he strikes me as a day to day type of bloke who'd be bored with all free time int'l manager has

Yes, and with the uncertainty hanging over certain clubs ( i won't mention names for the sake of peace), he may well think one or two of those top jobs may be up for grabs in the next 12-18 months.

As a United fan, if Fergie was to call it a day next year, my preference wouldn't be O Neill. With Evertons permission I'd approach Moyes. For me there's no better "younger" manager in the business. With the financial clout of some other clubs, Moyes may well have won a league by now.

I can't type that let alone say it

too many bacardis this time of night. I like Moyes as I've said. I'm also conscious that in a fair world, he would manage at Everton for life and lead them to a title. But the odds are in the favour of the corporations like my club. They take what they want. I think I said to you last week that I'm an idealist. I'd prefer that clubs kept the players they've groomed and the managers in the interest of competition. On another thread here today, it was pointed out how open things were 40-50 years ago.

We may yet see a return to those days. Here's hoping

Cos we were speaking of crossovers today, people moving from one sport to another, why don't Wales appoint Terry Griffiths as new boss. What have they got to lose? And the television money they'd make. I'd pay SKY (Yes sten, I said it) to watch terry griffiths in the technical area . . . . . . lining up a shot

FFS. It would take 30 minutes for him to line up a free-kick in training. Admittedly, it would catch the opposition napping.

His hair was always lovely though. Immaculate was the boy Griffiths during his pomp. "I'm in the final now"

Apparently John Hartson fancies the job

So maybe Robbie Savage isn't such a far fetched bet

Hartson/savage is the kind of thing they might do as a fan pleaser. I like both of them, they had great careers. They are both good examples of people who can play at the highest level with players wh are MAYBE more blesed in the skill dept. Through sheer force of personality and determination.

But I wouldn't go down that road if I was the committee doing the selection. Although it could be argued that Tosh had experience in abundance and he hasn't made it pay for him.
