Just read that Gary Mason died in a car accident on Thursday. Very sad news, ex British Champ and always seemed like a nice bloke.

aye he was a decent bloke - decent fighter too - remember he fought Lewis at Wembley - his only loss - no shame there - did knock out Tyrell Biggs and James 'quick' Tillis former Tyson foes - from Fightnews -
Former world contender and British heavyweight champion Gary Mason (37-1, 34 KOs) was killed Thursday morning in a bicycling accident in London. Mason’s bicycle was hit by a van and he died at the scene. The van driver was booked for reckless driving. Mason’s only loss was to Lennox Lewis. He was just 48 years of age.

I was shocked when I heard this. I think he was underated as Bruno used to get all the press coverage, although I recall them being friends.

A shame, at such a young age in tragic circumstances.
