Question about Jesus.
The mrs asked me a question earlier, she said "If Jesus died on the cross when he was 33, and then he came back to life, when did he actually die after that?".
I have to admit I have no idea!
When I googled it everything just points to his death on the cross at age 33.
Anyone?

As far as i know he didnt die after that, he ascended to heaven on a cloud in front of the disicples. Also i think he was more of a spiritual form when he rose again, not entirely sure though.

A troubled woman your missus. She clearly hasn't got enough ironing to do.

I like the St. Murphy's version.
"This guy was wandering around, mumbling this and that, '40 days in the wilderness talking to the devil', being the 'son of God', and comming back from the dead, give us a break!
Then they pushed him into a cave and bricked it up!"
Excerpt from Murphy's Law. (Bad day in paradise!)

If you are a Christian, Jesus lives. ie Didn't die. You see it on signs outside a load of churches.
I would like to point out at this stage that I am an atheist.
I believe that a preacher existed who was called 'Jesus'. He was a Jew and therefore believed in God, so everything that he preached reflected his beliefs. He was also unhappy about the way that the Jewish religion was being interpreted by the Jewish 'High Priests' at the time, similar to Martin Luther in the early 16th century. As a result, he was 'persona non grata' to the religious elite. You have to remember that politics and religion were more closely entwined at the time than they are nowadays.
The New Testament was written approximately 100 - 200 years after the crucifixion and reflects the opinions of those who 'ran' the Christian church at the time. They decided what went in and what didn't. It gave them a better hold on the religion. This was what Jesus was railing against, no place for a hierarchy.
According to the New Testament, Jesus said the he was the son of God. He also said that we are all God's children. The early church didn't pick up on this so allowed it to go into 'the book'. Jesus wasn't claiming to be any different from anybody else. He certainly didn't claim to be conceived by a virgin birth (as far as I know).
As I said near the top, I am an atheist. I don't believe in a God except as a general term for 'things we don't understand', not an almighty being. It appears certain to me that Moses, Jesus, Mohammed etc existed and that they were key figures in their societies during their lives. The religious interpretations of their lives were made by their bronze age, iron age and post-prehistoric contemporaries.

I'm not asking for a debate on whether he existed or not. I think it's all a crock of shit myself. I just wondered what 'that book' said about when he actually did die if he came back to life after the crucifixion.
What I do know is when they were nailing him to the cross Jesus did say unto his disciples "don't none of you fuckers dare touch my easter eggs".

I told you. He didn't die according to 'born again' Christians.
After coming off the cross, he asked Thomas for something to eat. Thomas only had Maltesers. Jesus said, "Give me some, I'm starving". Thomas poured them into his cupped hands and they all fell through the holes.

Ever thought about stealing the book?
Just go to any hotel, and grab it, send me the other book while you are there!
