do you mean your avatar or sig
a tip upload it to a file hosting site host my pic etc then just copy and paste the url as listed for the pic on their site
and resize if it is outwith the parimeters listed for your avatar/ sig

My picture wouldn't upload for a long time. I kept getting a message saying that "I was too feckin ugly. Please wait until an uglier person joins the site ".

sorry do you mean using a pic as an avatar or as a signature
you can do either or both , but you can only have a singe avatar

also check it meets the limits of your allowance for either avatar or signature

but you may want to use it as part of your signature ,i have in the past
the reason i sugest this is the allowance is larger than that for avatars

For anyone else that's confused:-

A profile picture appears on your Public Profile. If you click on my name at the top of this post, and then choose view public profile, you'll see some details about me, including a rather dodgy picture top right. That's my profile picture.
