Peter Kays New Show...

Britains got the pop factor, a spoof and send up of all the current audition type shows, starts tonight at 8pm on C4.

It's meant to be good, lets hope so, he needs some new material, he's been dining out on the old stuff for the best part of ten year.

If nowt else, Cat Deeley is in it, and is worth slobbering over for an hour and a bit.

I used to be a big fan of Peter Kay until i saw some old stand up dvds that had 90% of his act in it but they were filmed before he was working as a stand up. Also i spoke with Dave Spikey last year after he was at our local theatre and he was very angry with Kay as he had brought out the Phoenix Nights script books and he called it Peter Kays Phoenix Nights when Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice (RAY VON) wrote about 80% of it.

I bet tonight's show will just be an embarrassing cheesy send up that is a 10 min sketch stretched beyond belief.

Aye I've seen some of the early stuff on Paramount and a lot of his material on the Blackpool DVD he'd done before. But I suppose that's how it works. I think that's what makes Billy so good; he doesn't have an act...he's just very funny.

The guy who played Spencer is not to keen on Kay either.

Live From The Top of The Tower is still a cracking dvd though.

Agreed Tommo. I always thought that I'd already heard most of his material in one form or another. His delivery is good so I watch him but always spot the punch-lines about 2 seconds before he delivers them.

He's funny but not a great.

Along the same lines, I didn't like Bernard Manning very much. I'm not talking about the subject of his jokes. If something is funny you have to take off your hat whether it goes against your beliefs or not, but he just re-cycled dross. There must have been big windows in the Embassy Club, you could see every punch-line coming. Boom-boom.

I'm assuming that you close your eyes when you're hiding in the snow to complete the camouflage. In which case, how do you know that it's a normy you've captured and not just another fecking albino?

Im with the Ayres. Kay is a twat. He seems to like dressing in drag quite a lot too. The mark of any self respecting comedian.

Me too. I watched until the ads.

I'm guessing that anybody who actually watched the X-Factor might detect the irony but I've only seen 4 or 5 second bursts of the X-Factor when channel-surfing and it seems to be the same program to me.

To take the pi55 out of those sort of programs, you have to be cruel, not affectionate. It looks like an TV-insider's joke.
