Pes 2009
I've just had the delight of playing the PC demo of Pro Evo 2009 and my god it felt good!
The demo allows for a 5min exhibition with a choice of Man United, Liverpool, Madrid, Barca or Italy and France. Obviously i cracked up a United Pool match. Berbs is not in the squad and Saha is - hoping that changes on the final release.
The gameplay is ultra smooth, and the ability to just run through a team with Ronaldo or Torres isn't so much gone, but bloody hard. The touch and passing is 1000 times more responsive than 2008 and quite a few of the glitchs have been ironed out.
I recently donwloaded FIFA 09 for PC and played the Legend game, whereby you take control of one player in a team and its your job to get into position and call for the ball etc. What let it down on FIFA was the horrid gameplay, slow animation and absolute lack of teamplay. What i wanted was for this game mode to be on Pro. And it bloody well is!
The legend and Master league set up seems to be a bit more advanced than both FIFA and PES2008 but more noticable is the teamplay on PES2009. With Man United you got Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez appearing all over the pitch, swapping positions. With Liverpool Torres makes darting runs, and Gerrard is the heart of almost everything.
Compared to FIFA09, PES is quite literally miles ahead in terms of gameplay, graphics and enjoyment. The PES Legends mode also allows you to take it online and play with upto 4 other people on the team, which looks like a riot. Plus PES have got the kit and name rights for the whole EPL which bugs some people.
All in all i am literally dribbling with anticipation, with what was a very very poor last outing for PES, the improvements to 2009 are instantly noticable, so long as they fix the online issues across all platforms which had me pulling my hair out at times then PES2009 will easily be the best footy game to date.
EDIT: Well fuck my old boots if it hasn't just appeared for download (or will at some point... still, goodbye life and real world exitstence) here: http://www.scnsrc.net/games/pro-evol...onedvd-procyon

Getting a ps3 at some point this week, got to say i'm sticking with fifa after last years shennanigans.
If i can get a lend of pes 09 off somebody, i'll give it a whirl but there is other considerations involved now for me, with next gen consoles. The online shite is paramount for example, EA seemed to be ahead on the last one so i'm sticking with that for now.

Seems as though the entire PS3 online system is twisted and its killing of the brand. Hope Sony figure it out.

They have to, it'll make the system. Free online play has to be the future.
XBL is so much better atm, but its the promise of the future which swung my decision anyways.

RlsLog has become a haven for morons and lamewods. http://www.scnsrc.net/ is a fantastic site, i think, set up by the old mods from RLSlog after they quit cos the site admin were trying to make money from illegal downloads with ads and pay-for-links. Pro Evo pre'd on scene source first. The guys there are the download equivilent of the FSi mods (exclude me for now, still applying my trade).

For PC, no. Dunno about sexbox or pS3. If you can wait til crimbo it'll drop down in price. But from my experience of Fifa and Pro 2009, Pro has taken a real giant leap forward in fun and Fifa has retained its dullness.
The xbox download is out, if you have a cracked 360

After spending the last 3 days so ill i actually thought i was dreaming i've got through a season of Become a Legend and now play for West Ham, turning down offers from Wigan and Newcastle.
My only goal of the season was a 30 yard screamer against Arsenal.
