You've obviously got a hdmi slot on your tv then? It's just that I've got an old tele so had to buy a converter box. If your tele is a newish one though then more tech minded people than me are sure to point you in the right direction.

I use a VGA male to male connector, works fine but sound comes out of comp and not tele. To get over this problem I bought speakers for my laptop.

I use a VGA cable from lappy to TV, and use a phono cable to connect lappy to an old Cambridge Amp that I have connected to the TV (with additional speakers). The sound is spot on with this set up.
With a high quality stream, the results are really good. Watched the golf the other day on a browser stream and it was brilliant.... close to terrestrial TV quality.
Just be careful about buying really cheap cables though, some are useless. Better to spend a little more and get something with good reviews.

You might need to change the settings for dual displays.
Go to the display settings - it maybe that it is defaulting to only display on 1 screen - you should be able to pick either screen, extend the display across both screens or duplicate one to the other.

Got a vga to HDMI cable. Cost £20!! Doesn't work. You need a box to convert the signal. Other than that get a HDMI card for your PC (if it's a desktop). Make sure you get the right card as there's a few different slots....PCi Pci express etc.

For me I plug the VGA cable in laptop and tv, then switch to "pc" on the telly (one of the options along with av, hd etc). I'm on vista so first time I had to right click on desktop, personalise, display settings, then changed it to 2 monitors and extended the desktop.

Was that into the HDMI socket Albi? My old LCD had a VGA in and it worked fine.

Nah I use a male to male VGA cable so it's the same both ends. The socket is actually marked pc on the tele lol.

Don't see why it wont. It's not lazy, it's convenient.
