I've got no problem with the Pope coming to the UK. Everybody is entitled to their own religious beliefs.

Describing the visit as a 'State visit' sticks in my craw. His itinerary suggests otherwise. Yes, he was invited by the Queen. Yes, he is a head of state, but only of a state with a population of under 1000 population and an area of under half a km[sup]2[/sup]. Yes, he is only meeting a religious minority of the population.

The real reason for this visit is to 'stick a finger in the dyke' and stop people ignoring/leaving his Church. It is Vatican Inc. getting free publicity again. (As I've mentioned in other threads, I believe that the Holy See acts mainly to promote/protect the brand of the Vatican.) Individuals who suffer as a result are victims of 'friendly-fire', in the opinion of the Church.

The West's axis of evil. Vatican for the religion, Queen for the money via The Crown and Washington for the nukes.
