Olympic Stadium
Coincidence?

Spurs and West Ham both want to take over the Olympic Stadium after the Games.

It was pointed out to me recently that 'The New Stadium' is an anagram of 'West Ham United'.

Looks like the Wristhammers have it!

I can understand West Ham wanting to keep the running track. The further you are away from the Hammers, the better they look!....

Here is my 2 pence worth on this.I think spurs should have got it for these reasons.
1. spurs have said that they would spendd 400 million which would be paid for by the private sector and west ham want 100million from the public sector.I think enough public money has been spent without spending even more.
2.I could be wrong but i think spurs have a bigger fan base than west ham which woould mean they would fill the stadium.
3.Is west ham even going to stay in the premiership? where as spurs are on the up with champions league games.
Sorry to all west ham fans but just how i see it from the outside.

If tottenham got it then surely they would have to change their name ? Welcome to franchise football if they did.

Dial Square, Woolwich Arsenal, Arsenal ring any bells?

Having said that, I think West Ham should get the stadium. I don't know about its commercial viability though.

More than 150. Everybody who is still there at the end of a West Ham game gets a seat.

Running tracks around the pitch were all the rage the last time that West Ham were in Europe. I think it was the failed Hoover 'free flights' offer.

Well West Ham won it. No need to support Stratford Hotspurs.

if you go back through tottenhams history the spuds were never classed as a london club. Possibly why they didnt get it.

I don't know if Haringey was counted as part of London when Spurs were formed. It certainly is now, so they are definitely a London club.

They probably won't get the stadium as they want to re-build it without the athletics track and upgrade the Crystal Palace athletics venue as an 'Olympic legacy'. The Olympic Legacy Company is advising the government and the lord mayor that they feel West Ham's proposal benefits athletics. It has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not Spurs are a London club.

manUdave has been reading some factually incorrect websites created by gooners.
