New laptop
Im thinking about getting a new laptop as this ones kinda bucked. The screen has gone and ive to connect through the tv via a vga lead and the adaptor doesnt charge when she restarts and it has oonly 1gb of ram. The thing is that i dont know a thing about processors and was wondering which is the best to get? Theres a few laptops on argos for round £300-350 mark which seem ok but have all different processors. Anyone know a thing about them? Any help would be great thanks.

Personally (and this will make Raff happy) I would go for a MacBook. I got an iMac for £45 a month from PC World. The new operating system has windas 7 which you can install while you get used to the Mac operating system....which is a lot, lot better but takes a while to get used to. The deal is;
Worth £1000.
Credit over 3 years.
£45 a month.
After two years you get 20% back and the option to upgrade to a better/more recent model (20% whatever). However this extends it another three years. If you choose not to upgrade it's yours after 3 years.
It's a business deal but you don't actually need a business. Just make one up!

Depends what you want to do with it really... no point in spending a fortune on an all singing, all dancing laptop if you only use it for surfing, watching vids / footy etc.. The hotukdeals website is good for the special offers as and when they come up.

There are still some good laptop deals available on the old core 2 laptops around. The processor side of it is core2duo old = new i3. i5= 4core (generally) and i7= 6core(generally). As Burdoch says if it's just surfing etc then an old core2 will be fine and hotukdeals is the place to find one, argos ones come up on there.
If you want it for gaming, hd editing etc then i5,i7 is the way to go.
Not bad i3 here
These are the latest ones on hotukdeals and it's worth reading the comments, some are good points and helpful.
latest deals on laptops

For an extra 50 quid you can get one with an i3 processor, what are those then? Is it just so you can do more than 2 things at once?
Also, how do you incorporate the link into the word 'laptop'? So when you click on that word it takes you to the other site. I've always wanted to know that!

Highight the word. Click on the little globe thing at the top of the editor box where you're typing and a box will come up asking for the URL, enter the URL of the page and click ok. Job done.

Cheers for the replys lads sorry im only getting back now laptop ko'd on me. Bought a new laptop there, 4gb ram and 2.3 gb processor, got it for £400 from a local pc shop. Just watched a link with the hdmi lead. What a difference, unreal. I was using a vga lead before which was ok but alittle fuzzy. Hdmi is the future, like garlic bread.
