Mourinho
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13217880.stm
If this is exactly what Jose Mourinho said after the game last night, he is in a world of trouble. He can expect a long ban and a huge fine. Madrid may even be warned that any more such outbursts and they could be banned from the competition. Fergie was out of order regarding Martin Atkinson, but that was tame compared to Mourinhos comments.
"It's clear that against Barcelona you have no chance.
"I don't know if it's the publicity of Unicef [the club's shirt sponsor], I don't know if it's because they are very nice, but they've got this power."
"I don't know if it's the friendship of [Spanish football federation president Angel Maria] Villar at [European football's governing body] Uefa, where he is vice-president
"[Barcelona's Pep] Guardiola is a fantastic coach, but he's won one Champions League which I would be ashamed to win after the scandal at Stamford Bridge and this year, if he wins it again, it will be after the scandal at the Bernabeu," stated Mourinho.
"I hope that one day he will win a clean Champions League, with no incidents behind it."
"Why couldn't Chelsea reach the final two years ago? It was a miracle that Inter reached the final last year.
"I am here just to ask this question and I hope to get the answer one day."
"Yes, we are out. Sometimes I am a little bit disgusted to live in this world, but this is the world we live in," he said.
"We will have to go to Barcelona and look for some pride, without Pepe who didn't do anything, without Ramos who didn't do anything and without a coach to sit on the bench.
"As soon as Pepe was sent off, all of their problems were solved
He might want to call a lawyer.Villar and Unicef may well issue proceedings. I would.

What's the big problem with what he said ? I don't get the uproar. He's only saying what others are thinking including myself. People aren't robots - they have emotions. To stop a coach speaking his mind after a game is to stop being human. Critiscising a ref is different...

I haven't commented on the rights or wrongs of what he said. He has libelled Unicef, Villar and the Spanish football authorities. He's suggesting there is a far reaching conspiracy that exists to ensure Barca win the champions league. Where was this group of people last year when Mourinho's Inter knocked Barca out?
This one won't go away in a hurry.

...as i pointed out in another thread Barca had a player sent off too and the two goals scored were quality and they have no comeback for that. I guess we can see after the return games if there is a conspiracy happening. They do seem to get some major breaks go there way. Lucky? Maybe...I'm more worried that now they can see that Barca have the upper hand and are one foot in the final, the ref can dish out yellows and usually a red to one of our beloved United players that will leave us an important player down for the final (if we beat Shalke). We've been missing a player the last few times we've played at the arse end of this competition. Fletchers was an absolute joke...i'm nervous.

yeah Fletcher missing the final aginst Barcelona was shocking, but more unlucky than conspiratorial. I wouldn't worry too much about it. As far as I know none of our players were a yellow away from a suspension on Tuesday, so we have plenty to spare on Wednesday next. Barcas luck is coincidental. It might very well run out soon.

Here's hoping. But realistically - they are the best gelled team in the world. Their passing game is superb. I really think we can do the double...

I wouldn't write off Real just yet.... although it is a big ask granted.
On another note, it will be interesting to see what UEFA do about the missiles thrown at the ref and assistants as they came off the pitch. They had to be escorted off with riot cops protecting the officials heads with large riot shields, as coins and other stuff bounced off them.
If that happened in England or Scotland, there would be hell to pay... nail em' up I say... nail some sense into em'.....
