After reading another thread people where starting to have a go at eggy for liking old soul music, I just thought we could do a thread about what we all have in our record collections that we don't like admiting to and the reason why we've got it in the first place....I will make a start!
Just had a look through my "cheese" play list. Not pleasent reading!
Some Gems;
Gloria/Self Control by Laura Branigan
Africa/Rosanna by Toto
Zoom by Fat Larrys band.
Dr Dr by the Thompson Twins (yep bad mrc)
Harzard by Richard Marx
Shatterd Dreams by Johnny Hates Jazz
Head over Heals by Tears to Fears
Love Changes Everything by Clime Fischer
Mary's Prayer by Danny Wilson
These Dreams by Heart
And there are about 100 along those lines...some are worse.
One track by the Goombay Dance Band called "Sun of Jamaica", terrible song. But I first in France in French whilst having 'intimate' relations with a German fraulein.

I was working as a DJ from approx 1986 to 1998 and im ashamed to say i had YNWA ,embarrasing i know ,nearly got strung up in Worsley in Manchester once when i put the latest now album on as background music while i got pissed at the bar not realising it was the last song on it.Needless to say it went out the window .
In my defence this (there's a listen live link) is the coolest radio station in the world which I listen to a lot (probably a too much). Might be a little tame for you DeeedWill but it does have a quality rock show (Wednesdays from 10PM UK time...introduced me the Gogol Bordello years ago). Start wearing purple!

Mate - there's no defence for Richard Marx OK -
EDIT: I'm outside the UK so i cant get the radio unfortunately....
Wow - works through wmp.... same stuff we have on radio here. Now if you can only get fivelive for the footy to do the same thing you will be a popular man....
Cheers. I'll give it a go. Rev is good though. Mani (ex-Stone Roses/current Primal Scream Basist) has a show. It's all a little rough around the edges but I think that adds to it.

Agreed. The main stations in Oz are part of a thing called the Austereo network - they are all the same shit every day , day after day. You'd think that Hotel California was the only Eagles song ever written know what i mean?
Triple J is the only independent station that can play whatever.
