Laptop to CRT TV
If, like me, you still have one of those old teles with the big box on the back (not lcd or plasma) then this might be useful to you. I ordered one of these off ebay the other day and it arrived this morning, it claims to display your computers screen onto any tv... and it only works!!!

I will now be able to watch my footy streams (and frankie vaughan for that matter) on the tele!!! (when she's not in or in bed). Fookin buzzing with it! The only drawback is it doesn't send the sound through too but I reckon one of these will do the job at a cost of £1.09...

I'll let you know if that lead gives us sound when it arrives. Just thought I'd share the info in case anyone's interested.

P.S. If Deadly reads this, it's the scan converter that I was on about in chat the other week. It works... obviously lol!

Should've just got one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2M-SCART-LEAD-...#ht_1602wt_932 and saved yourself 14 quid! It's what I used to use. I now have a PC with HDMI out, so all my video content is in beautiful hi def, can't recommend it enough.

The converter box worked straight away, just put the leads where they needed to go and the picture was straight there.

I ordered this lead http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1-5M-Gold-3-5m...item3f03c7eb2c and it turned up this morning. Works a treat so I now have picture and sound from my netbook going through to my TV!
Less than £20 in total so if anyone else wants to do the same thing then you now know it will work before buying
Note: My TV has the 3 phono sockets on it (video and audio L&R) which is how I'm connecting it up.

the button you need to press has the letters fn on it it's usually botom left of the key board next to the ctrl button. you need to press this button whilst holding the f5 button at the top of the keyboard this transfers the picture from the laptop to the tv screen.
edit your tv also needs to be set to the input you are connected to with the leeds.

My function key is in exactly the same place that stenelly described but my button to transfer the picture to the TV is F4 on my netbook. It has a little picture of a screen with another little pic next to that which looks like an open laptop from a side view. You press F4 or F5 (whichever one it is on your machine) whilst holding down the function key.

Yes, my tv has 2 scarts, an s-video and 3 phono sockets. I use the phono sockets to connect mine up which comes under AV3 on my tv. Scart 1 and 2 are AV1&2 respectively, s-video comes under... well... s-video lol!
