Terry aside, commentators go with this old adage of "back in my day". It's bullshit cos back in their day they could play offside or do pass backs but the game changes and getting the ball and going through a player is no longer acceptable. That's fact. It's the rules now.
Its the same as what happened at Arsenal last week. Terry should have seen red. A stupid challenge in a stupid area. Anyone who says "it was just him trying to win the ball" or "its a contact sport" or "players should get on with it" need to wise up.
Its cause he is one of the best centre backs in the world, add the fact thats he is english, and all the commentators and pundits will bum him....
Same thing happened with Steven Gerrard and all his dives.
Same thing as Rooney losing his cool and going mental.
Its cause they are all good footballers, and good at there job, and although it shouldnt be like that, they earn 140k+ a week and can do what they want, on or off the field, as long as they are still good enough to start for england.
Fans dont care as the long as the players gets results and pundits dont want to offend anyone.
Cos he's a cheating conning bastard ! Hate that man I think I hate him more than the other cheat Gerrard and thats saying something...the thought of that poor excuse of a man lifting the premiership up makes me want to vomit if we don't win it please god let Arsenal...
must say i do think JT seems to get away with quite a lot
why who knows perhaps his time as England captain had a sub concisest effect on refs not to be over strict with him
do we notice the errors of high profile players more than others no i dont think so just that they tend to stay in our minds more
was that a sending off
Defo he should av gone. You see that & then see Rafeal sent off against Bayern for next to nothing
Read that as Defoe should have gone. Must learn to read.
It must be more to do with the big club thing. Villa seem to be on the wrong end of bad decisions if you include the Vidic carling cup penalty.
I wonder whether any pressure is placed on the referee to keep the game 'interesting' by have all all the players on the pitch.
If the situation is switched and Terry was wrongly sent off for a fair tackle, would the ref come under more fire? Maybe that's why key decisions seem missed in higher profile games.
What a weekend United win Chelsea lose and John Terry gets a penalty against him (at last) and gets sent off (at last) I don't know what has made me happier
