All street crime and asb - 11 in December..... and I did 10 of them.... not bad.

We are allegedly surrounded by Russian oligarchs, east end villains and retired terrorists from Northern Ireland!!

But you wouldn't know it. Most of the drugs sold on the streets of Britain and Ireland, enter Europe through Spain. Again, you wouldn't know it.

We have a problem on the Costas with house burglaries. Especially where the owner is an infrequent visitor, meaning the house or appartment is unoccupied for long periods.

Life is pretty good here . . . . at the moment.

my streets not too bad,a lot of headers about and the police do visit now and again but,i suppose a lot of people dont report everything that goes on,mmm!wonder how they get matters sorted?

383 where i live including 214 ASB and more worrying 46 violent crime. I live in an area that has a high incident of youth gangs and there have been a few gang related murders of youths

This was featured on the Jeremy Vine show recently. The figures can be quite difficult to read into as it doesn't really give a clear breakdown (from what I've heard, gonna check it out for myself shortly). There could be 30 violent crimes in your area but 25 could be from the warring couple at number 22 lol! Also ASB can include residents calling the police because kids are playing football in the street (something we did all the time in my day).

You can't really gauge a rough area from a nice area (not taking local knowledge into account) either because a 'nice' area might look like it has lots of incidents of ASB but, as said above, it may be just kids playing football, in turn, a 'shit' area, might look pretty good on this site as residents may be more inclined not to report any ASB or violent crime for that matter as they may think it's not really worth the hassle they could get for doing so.

This is the real crux of it, it's only 'reported' crime that makes the figures on the site. Apparently though, in the future you'll be able to click on crimes and see if any arrests were made for it, if it went to court and then what a sentence, if any, was handed down!

Will have to check the site another time now, just been called out

I read about a street that had high figures but it turned out that the figure included 'hoax calls'. Nothing had actually happened.
