How many?

How many people do you reckon regularly post in these forums? It doesn't seem to be that many considering FSi has nearly 74,000 members. It's a bit of a shame that's all because it's a class site and a great community.

I remember when the forums used to be a busy place, seems to have died right down at the moment.

that was probably the days when we made everyone join the forums to see the links, since we opened the links on the front end there was little point in doing that!

Most people are only after the links, many probably join the forums just to get to the info in the locked forums..

There is little we can do to make members post in the forums, it would be good though!

Only 3% of the traffic total on this site is this forum, bit of a shame but as scudd says you can't force people to join and participate.

Also that is a false total as the total users are pruned automatically every 3 months, aka all inactive users get culled. The real total if we did not do this is around 350000, probably more.

Nah wouldn't want anyone to be forced to use the forums either. I just meant it's a shame they don't use them though cos it's a good site with some good banter going on. Don't know what they're missing do they?!

The kids of today rarely use forums. They prefer to go on Myface, Sharebo and shit like that.

From what I've seen, a lot of forums are pretty dead. TBH, I wouldn't like a lot of social network users repeatedly posting the exact same comments in the forums.

Good way of looking at it though, it's why I deleted failbook, you knew what shit 'witty' comments were coming on stuff before they'd even been posted.

Sign up and get an email saying that you can't join because nobody can be bothered to process your application.

Eventually you get an email telling you that you are in but that you cannot set your own status. Other users will set your status to anything ranging from A55HOLE to CNUT.

When you post you get another email telling you not to do it again as nobody is interested.
