Hillsborough: Goverment doesn't want papers revealed.
The government is challenging the release of Cabinet records on discussions following Hillsborough. The information commissioner has ruled that they should be released but the government is challenging this. Why? Too embarrassing for them if we discover what they really thought?

You've got to wonder how The Spun came to their conclusions, especially in light of the media/police 'pay as you go' stories that we are now seeing.

We should know what our elected representatives past and present really think, not what they say on a pre-scripted sound-bite.

When a Elected Government goes down this road, the only comment that comes to mind is COVER UP

I've signed up. Something is being hidden and football supporters, especially Liverpool supporters, deserve to know what.

I can imagine two possible cabinet reactions at the time that would explain why they don't want the papers released. Somebody must have said:
All football supporters are scum.

or

Scousers are scum.

It'll come out eventually and I'm sure will be embarrassing to the Conservatives.

Signed. Thanks.

I was under the impression the previous govt had set the wheels in motion for this to happen. I can only assume that whatever is in those documents will a) make the tories look very bad or b) there is something that might be akin to phone hacking or police payments. Or maybe they are just waiting for certain former cabinet members to pass away.

Petition now over 101,000!
