...depends what your watching. I think it makes a difference watching sport defo but movies and tv not really - SD is good enough for my eyes...blu ray for movies is excellent mainly because of the sound...

My brother signed up to the top package and has admitted he can't see much difference, sometimes it shows in the footy.
Just another gimmick for them to make money like 3d, although I have never tried it.
I am easily pleased remember being happy watching guangdong on my pc to watch the footy, chinese comm but I could see it!

yeah, got it last year .. and tbh, I can't find much difference with movies and regular programming etc, but with sports, definitely see a difference.
But then, it could possibly be cos I actually watch the sports and when anything else is on, i don't watch as closely ...

I finally took the plunge about 3 months ago and got a HD TV. I looked out for, and got an LG one which was 100hz because I heard the picture was a lot better, particularly for sport. It is also Freeview HD (cos I don't like paying for anything I don't have to).
I had seen other peoples TVs on 50hz, and wasn't too impressed at all with the picture (which was why I waited so long tbh).... but I have to say, I can definitely see the difference with mine, and am really pleased. The footy is brilliant in HD, really clear and no motion blur (which put me off big time on the HD TVs I had seen before).
Mine is an 32 inch LG690 (I think).... it has built in internet TV an'all.... all for £329.... which I thought was pretty good. If there is a downside to it, I have noticed a bit of slight mis-sync in the video/audio on some of the non-HD channels every now and again, which I have read is a slight issue with the hardware in the TV... but it doesn't cause too much hassle at all.
Well worth the money imo.... but I'm glad I chose 100hz, and wouldn't buy any TV below that now.

I like it. Had a HD tv for a couple of years. Virgin then started carrying some HD channels (can't get $ky) so I upgraded. Hooded Monk; if you wanna see the difference watch the start of Eastenders on normal then on HD.

Aye, I know how you feel.... when I changed, I said goodbye to my old Panasonic widescreen 28" CRT (c. 1997). Still worked fine.... just old. Tried to give it away for free.... no bugger wanted it.... went to the tip in the end..... a sad end....

A bit like when I finally relented and decided to sell my complete collection of VHS Bond films, no one wanted to buy them so then I decided I would do the noble thing and give them away... but no fucker would have them for free either, I couldn't believe it! Broke my heart, they ended up at a charity shop
I have them all on DVD though. Anyway another thing, I'm not fookin upgrading them to HD DVD or fookin Blueray either... Money grabbing bastards. (Not that I have a tele to watch them on anyway).
I did look on ebay once to see what my tele would go for, seems about 20 quid is all they're worth lol!

I don't either but if you wanna see the difference watch the start on both. Then stop it. It's on the iPlayer thingy in both normal and HD.

Stuck our old one in't bedroom and chucked out the portable. Didn't take it to the tip. Put it at the bottom of the wheelie bin and put the usual bin bags on top of it. Thankfully the bin men didn't see it and emptied the bin as normal.
Brucie Bonus. Saved a job.
Wow when I was looking for that the first suggestion was:
bruce forsyth
2nd:
bruce forsyth dead.
He's not crocked it has he? Can't remember seeing that in the press.

I had a relative who stuck a fridge outside his house with a sign on saying 'Free Fridge, Good Working Order - Please Take'. It was there for a week with no takers.
The week after, he replaced the sign with 'Free Fridge, Good Working Order - £40'. The next morning it was gone.
True story.... sign of the times.

A clever person would have taken it when it said free and sold it on at a good price [even tho i know its free to them before you say it]
