used to have? earliest i played was cm2 and you had text then. I believe you can just have text again and put speed up to max is prob the quickest it can go. But besides that, why? do you not want to see which players area able to skin players and which strikers hoof the ball over from 5 yards?

Now for my bragging, i got a peruvian international in the conference with salisbury, even captained the side a few times. Also won the fa trophy in first season in charge.

I used to have it so it was text, but showed the highlights thing for goals and near misses.

Although i cant remember if that was champ manager or football manager.

Rev isnt that the standard setting of fm games nowadays?

fm09 reeks less of the conspiracy theory of predetermined highlights, although there was a stage in fm06 i turned of highlights because of it.

Not sure, i think the last FM game i had was either 06 or 07 and i think the standard was to show the entire match as a birds eye few of dots.

I always found the game too random and the right team or strategy doesn't really come into it. Plus at least every 10 games one of my players would score from in his own half from a poor goal kick.
