they may end up ust cutting his foot off as the victim also lost a foot as a result of the attack , although the convicted person can always pay compensation instead although not too sure how high it would be given sentance
one thing to consider is how bad and vicious the attack must have been one thing regardless of what the final punishment turns out to be i dont think the perpetrator will be doing it again ,unlike in more liberal countries where he would get 5 years and out in 2 to perhaps re-offend

and before everyone feels sorry for him remember he inflicted horrific injuries onto another
