Excited? Not really
I used to get really excited about the start of a new football season, like proper anticipation with dreams of maybe a good cup run or something and although i still do when it comes to Yeovil because football at that level seems much more enjoyable, my other team (Newcastle, my dad was a geordie) and the premier league just leaves me pretty cold. For what seems like for ever now it's just the same old four teams battling for the same things, the same players diving and cheating, the same managers moaning and groaning, the same presenters talking shite, like some sort of premiership groundhog day. I just hope three or four teams break into the top 4 this year and make it a bit more exciting, i think the prem really needs it.

We have been talking about this on the place I am not allowed to mention.

I think the mindset most proper sports fan have is; summer = cricket, then when that has finished the football season starts.

There's still three tests yet to decide who is the best team in the world, England could be the best team in the world in a few weeks. I am far more interested in that than the start of the footy season. Maybe the FA/PL should have asked the ECB to be India then Bangladesh rather than the other way round.

I'm an Arsenal fan, I feel that I have nothing extra to really put to this post.

Championship is where the excitement will be, I hope. Some good teams in there this season.
I am with you on hoping someone can crack the top 4 although not through buying it.
Liverpool spurs or arsenal to win it would be great for the Prem and neutrals alike. It could happen this season.
