Just a word of warning for all members on here about another scam doing the rounds. Had a call from someone with an indian accent saying they were from microsoft (blah blah) saying I needed to check my pc for security issues. Fortuanately I am computer savvy but played him along to see what they say.
They ask you to go to start, computer, manage, event viewer to see how many administrative events you have. I had 1000 odd. Then the selling point is that when I get to 1200, my pc won't work anymore! Oh no I had better get it sorted then. Ok go to
www.(dontclick)fix.co and then click on technical support. This then brings an executable file up which if run will allow remote access to your pc and then all hell breaks loose.
DO NOT DO THIS. (I think I made it clear enough there.) When the file popped up he said run it, but of course I didn't but stalled him to google ammy, (the name of the file) and said to him this is a scam. We argued for a while and then I told him that I worked in IT and he hung up. If you are caught with this I don't know what the answer is accept a wipe and reinstall.
They even have facebook testimonials,cunts.
