I never get why they do it, surely after any athlete who dopes himself up must feel that they can't truly feel that they won something. Some part of them must feel empty at the victory, that they haven't done it right.

thats why they do it , a gold medal is nice and worth at most £1000
winning and especially breaking a record could be worth millions in fees and endorsments

glad to see Contador caught out ,what is it with these cyclists there does seem to be a high rate of them found out over the years

just a idea but surely a dope test imediatley before a event would help[ stamp some of it out , and for events like tour de france or other time based events then a random test at any stage of the event would surely act as some type of deterent

dont suppose we will ever clean sport up but it would be nice if we could

although i am reminded of a joke (think it was mock the week) where it was sugested a dope free and a dope enhanced event .... you never know

Ban them for life if they're caught cheating, they're not just cheating fellow athletes, they're cheating the paying and viewing public.

Imagine paying a huge price to watch the olympic final, only to find out months later that the guy - or woman - they applauded was a cheat. I would feel cheated by that and demand my money back from the banned athlete. As a spectator or viewer ( and a sports nut that I am), I invest a lot of emotional energy into an event, cheats make it a waste of time.I've gone off athletics a lot since Marion Jones was banned.

ive stopped watching a lot of sports simply because you know someone is bound to be cheating
i used to enjoy the large athletic events
but to be honest i will be lucky to watch any of the olympics at least as far as track and field goes whats the point
