I am with Sharky if he is trying to make FSI interesting and busy again. For weeks/months you could have come on here and left again without anything interesting to read or comment on whereas over the last few days there has been some signs of life. Now I know I have as much responsibility to start a thread or contribute to one as the next person but you do think whats the point when the place seems like a morgue. Personally I thought losing the supporters lounges was a backward step but hey ho they are gone.

perhaps we could revamp suporters rooms in chat room

good points Glenman ,thats what we are all trying to do revamp interest in the forums again might be worth looking at the suporters lounges again
just need to ban sue from the liverpool one before it even opens

i think the chatroom is being misunderstood, most people who go into the chatroom have already got a link from the site and are just looking to chat, granted there are peeps who come on looking for links cos they can't be arsed to look for themselves but that happens in the forums also, "what link is best for united/pool/arse/chelski etc.". the forums were quiet before the current chatroom was implemented so i don't see where the argument that the chatroom is killing the forum comes from. i agree that we all, especially us mods etc. need to get the forum lively again but i don't think the chatroom is to blame

I'm agreeing with that.

The thing I like about the chat room is it's for chatting and it's instant. I can watch a game or two on the side of the screen and talk shit in the other.

In the chatroom, I don't mind giving people asking for a link the front page link and have them get it themselves but it's exactly the same as just helping them out with a link in the first place - they will get their link and fuck off without saying anything anyway. I brought that point up long ago that that fucks me off but was assured that was ok as far as site was concerned.

So...I guess the easiest thing would be to not have the chatroom link up for the next few weeks and see what happens. My prediction is if we take the chatroom away, people will just use the front page - take a link and fuck off so i really don't see what difference it's going to make to the feedback thread. And maybe it's working better because it's not been flooded with posts saying 'cracking shot' 'he definitely dived' etc etc. I also remember hearing mods having to miss their teams game for helping others which i've said before is silly and not needed..

i understand your Passion but it comes across as you are trying to dictate to people. i for one enjoy the banter in the chatroom. its a mini forum in itself as you said, but one or two good ideas, links and friendships have been made in there.

one point no one has stated about the chatroom is you can still watch the match and reply without affecting the stream you are watching.as said before on these forums mods went years not seeing a match because they was sorting out the feedback rooms.i for one want to watch the match. we work hard getting the links i want to reap the reward of seeing the stream.

I'm sorry if you don't like this post sharky but i have thought hard and long over this. everyone has a right to there opinion but if yours doesn't tally with mine I'm not about to swear at you, or call you stupid. in my humble opinion you were in the wrong for calling people for voicing there opinion.

Ste. There's no point in having a go at Sharks. All he has done is raise a topic for discussion in his own outspoken way. Rev is big enough and ugly enough to fight from his own corner, and does.

As Accie said, don't let the discussion get personal. Rev and Sharky both want what is best for the site, if they are bitch-slapping each other, let them.

OK. I haven't been around for a while but I get Shark's point about the forums. When I first joined, the craic in the forums was what made me return to this site (several times a night). If it's just about getting a link, people should go to piss2piss or another site. There are hundreds out there, all stealing links from the established link-sites.

To me, FSi was always about the banter and providing good links.
