Sad, disgusted but totally not surprised.

The youths of today are what put me off ever returning home to raise my kids. But it's not just the kids for a lot of people .. it's the parents .. i mean, this part of the article:

"Her 34-year-old mother, who gave birth to her youngest child eight months ago, said she was 'proud' of her daughter."

Wtf does she have to be proud about? But it's that attitude that seems to be more and more common.

The government also has to take a lot of the blame .. all in all, I have as much confidence in the youth of today as I do England winning the World Cup - none whatsoever.

That was my first thought as well. I suppose that now that it has happened, she has to give the kid support but where was the parental guidance, support and control before the wean got pregnant?

its all too common a problem ,the reasons are endless ,but yes bad parenting plays a part ,although even good parenting wont stop a child bowing to peer presure when out with their peers , society as it has become tolerates underage drinking and drug taking as well as turning a blind eye to underage couples having sex
you could argue the availability of alcohol for the girl didnt help and a lack of proper sex education as well as the lack of discipline that kids have had for a couple of decades now also plays a part , as does the fact that many young girls see parenthood as a easy alternative as opposed to a working life upon leaving school ,if you ask girls at primary school what their plans are for when leave school it is alarming the amount that reply either try and become a wag or a singer or just get pregnant
in truth the parents , the education system , the government, society and above all both the girl and the boy are to blame
what we all need to think is how do we prevent this becoming the norm
feeling disgust ,sadness ,repulsion ,sympathy wont help this girl or the next 10,11 12 year old , its time we all took efforts to get back the discipline and values that existed even 30 years ago back into every day life in the uk
but dont hold your breath

i wish the girl and the wee baby all the best for the future but fear their life will just be another example of the crumbling society that is the uk now
