I agree, especially about the coaches. I'm pretty sure that most people that post here could have done as good a job as most recent England managers. It's not as if they have to develop players' games.
It appears to be:
Choose a system (4-5-1, 4-4-2 etc)
Pick players who can play in that system ..... and that's all there is to it.
