Big Sam sacked
Blackburn have announced they have sacked manager Sam Allardyce.
In a shock move, new owners the Venky's Group have dispensed with the former Bolton boss' services despite Rovers sitting relatively comfortably in 13th in the Barclays Premier League.
"We have taken this decision as part of our wider plans and ambitions for the club," Rovers said.
Allardyce's assistant Neil McDonald will also depart, with first team coach Steve Kean stepping into the breach temporarily.
The full statement from Rovers said: "The Venky's Group, owners of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, has today confirmed the departure of manager Sam Allardyce and assistant manager Neil McDonald with immediate effect.

Houghton, and now Fat Sam. Do these owners honestly expect to be better than mid-table with the squads/funds that the managers have at their disposal?

the question has already been asked . . what the hell did the owners expect from him? Europa league? Surely not. And if that is the case, they would agree that mid table or thereabouts is a result. Crazy people buying clubs these days. Who'd want a job in footie?

It was rumored that the new owner(s) wanted a say in how to run the club ie players in and sold and so on,which seems to be now vindictive of every new owner wanting to be a manager with little or no knowledge of football whatsoever,Loathe him or Love him I don't think he deserved to be sacked as he was holding his own at Blackburn.he may or may have not set the world on fire but he would have kept them in the Prem where as with a lot of clubs they are quite happy to stay and try too improve there ranking....

I've read today that the Venky's chicken owners hadn't watched a game of football until a month ago and they said they are not interested in the club or football - it is purely a business venture. They were looking at buying a football club in India but there was little returns for investment so they bought in England. They have outlined $5 million for the transfer window - huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount that. Expect food and tickets to go up no doubt. They had only heard the name Blackburn Rovers because they read they were one of the few teams to have won the premier league. Those were the days when smaller clubs actually had a chance but not nowadays...

Apparently they are willing to wait to get an english manager, looks like Woy Hodgson for Blackburn then, Martin Jol for Liverpool?
