Coming at the whole 'managerial' thing from a different angle....
'Top' managers/coaches are being overpaid. Apart from banking, it must be the only job in the world where you can get 4 years' salary for doing little or nothing. If you win, you earn a fortune. If you lose and get sacked, you earn a fortune.
In England terms, let's face it. Most of us could have achieved the same results as Capello. I'm from Northern Ireland and would have done the job better than Capello for beer money but (slightly) more people would have understood what I was saying.
I know that there are a few good managers around but how would Fergie fare if he took over Blackburn? How well would Morinho do at Wigan?
