as it may have been apparent, i am a fucking massive beatles fan.
No one person or band will ever achieve what the Beatles did, and no band will ever pioneer music they way they did. 14 studio albums is 6 years with a continual progression in style and reinvention is no longer possible. Ask Oasis

It's a wierd one really I suppose if I was born in the 60s I would have loved them But I've never really been into them...I suppose having them rammed down your throat nearly everyday living in Liverpool you take them for granted but it does annoy me that when out and about in Liverpool they are everywhere Liverpool as a city squeezes as much out of the Beatles as they can. I couldn't see the same happening in Manchester with Oasis

Unfortunately Suz things change and non so quicker than the modern music scene there are/were a load of Bands/Groups that came out of Manchester even in the 60s that are still played today on certain Radio stations that cater for that genre, but as I was saying the modern music thing is so fickle nowadays that decent groups are here one minute and gone the next,my youngest son got me into James a good while back and they had a few good hits and were gone and thats the same of the ones that followed, but I have to say that will the groups of today still be going strong as are the Beatles though there are only two survivors remaining, but lets be fair they were the only good thing that ever came out the Pool where music was concerned and before people tell me they were numerous other groups that came out of there at the same time yes I know but none of them had the same impact as those four lads the lyrics and melody's that they came up with were incredible and changed popular music for ever and also they still sound good today and there won't be many groups today that will/can have their music played by symphony orchestras and some of the noted singers like Sinatra,Bassey Louis Armstrong and many more of that ilk and still sound good in 40 years time, but then I'm biased towards them....
