Not a cricket fan, but good news for those who are. Takes away something from the clutches of Murdoch.
Now all we need to do is lobby that certain premiership fixtures are of vital national importance

Always a good thing when things are taken away from sky. I remember watching the 2005 Ashes and really getting into because you was always able to catch it on the telly anywhere, but this years win just didn't seem the same as I wasn't able to watch it and I think it didn't really capture any of the emotion of the previous win because of that.

Aye, it's 2017 before it's on TV.
We could all be dead from a massive nuclear world war by then anyway.

So, in conclusion.
The Ashes will be on free TV in 8 years time....unless there is a change in government and they change their mind.
Is it even news worthy?

errr.....not really. The Ashes tests are always free here so it's a non issue. We'd kill channel owners if they sold it to pay tv...

It probably won't happen if Cameron's lot get in. The word is he will be looking upon Murdoch favourably as they say. Ofcom will probably be the first thing to go.... maybe a commerical BBC, $ky becomes the dominant force.... armageddon....
